Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Foundation
Annual vocal competition for singers ages 21-36. Over $15,000 in scholarships are available. Auditions will be held at Northwestern University October 6-7, 2012, University of Texas October 14, 2012, and in Providence (RI) October 27-28, 2012. Visit web site for application deadline.
James A. Hyter Vocal Music Scholarship
James A. Hyter Vocal Music Scholarship Fund is for applicants who will pursue a vocal music degree. Applicants will be invited to a vocal audition. Those chosen for the audition should be prepared to perform three musical selections. Range of scholarships is $1,000 to $2,000. Applicants must have a current grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, live in the Memphis metropolitan area, be enrolled, or intend to enroll, in a two or four-year program at an accredited institution, possess vocal talent accompanied by a love of music, submit the application form and the required attachments.
The Herman and Mary Neuman Award
The Herman and Mary Neuman Award is offered annually in Voice or Strings to a sophomore attending Miami University (OH). Award: $800. Application deadline: March 1.
Bev Sellers Memorial Scholarship
The Young Singers Foundation, one of the official charities of Sweet Adelines International, is committed to enriching the lives of young people by supporting the educational and performance opportunities in vocal music. To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, a student must: Be entering sophomore year or above in an accredited institution (college or university). Provide proof that he/she is enrolled full-time in an accredited institution. Be pursuing a degree with a major in vocal music (performance, education or music therapy). Meet the overall minimum GPA requirements of the institution. Maintain a 3.5 grade point average in vocal music classes. Scholarship applications must be postmarked by January 31 each year.
