Scholarships and Grants: Summer Camps
These scholarships were established to provide young music students with an opportunity to attend a summer music camp which they would otherwise not be able to afford. Funding of this program is provided by BMG Chrysalis. Three students, ages 10-16, will be offered full scholarships to the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp in Colorado. To be considered, students must submit an application to the Perry-Mansfield School in Steamboat Springs, Colorado —1-800-430-ARTS or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Juilliard offers grants to enrolled students to accomplish projects over the summer. Many diverse student projects are funded through this program, including seminars and classes taught by guest artists, concerts to raise money for charity, stage productions to raise consciousness
Preference for this funding considers academic and professional development, as well as social value of the proposed project. Projects that are geared to underserved populations or regions get top consideration.
The NFMC offers awards for summer study at a number of camps, including but not limited to: The Aspen School and Festival, Brevard Music Center, Chautauqua Music School, Interlochen, Music Academy of the West, Opera in the Ozarks, the Ravinia Festival, Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Artists Program, and Sewanee Summer Music Festival.
