Scholarships and Grants: Music Theatre
The ASCAP Foundation Max Dreyfus Scholarship
This scholarship, created to identify young talent and to encourage the study of musical theater, is presented each year to a student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Funded by an endowment from the Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation, it honors the music publisher Max Dreyfus who served on ASCAP’s Board for 50 years and was a mentor to many musical theater legends. It is funded by a generous gift from the Max & Victoria Dreyfus Foundation.
Elon University Performing Arts Scholarships
Elon University offers grants ranging from $1,000 to $6,000 each year for students who are interested in music theatre, and $500 to $2,000 each year for students interested in the theater arts. Awards are based on an application and an interview or audition.
SAI Musical Theater Scholarship for Undergraduate Students
The Musical Theater Scholarship are for college-initiated SAIs. The scholarship must be applied toward study leading to a music degree with an emphasis in musical theater. Applications must include a video of the required repertoire. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded. Visit Sigma Alpha Iota
