Communicating with Your Audience
During Edna’s 23 years as managing director of IMG Artists, she personally looked after the career of violinist, Itzhak Perlman and launched the careers of musicians such as pianists Evgeny Kissin and Lang Lang, violinist Hilary Hahn, and conductors Franz Welser-Mõst and Alan Gilbert.
Edna believes young musicians can grow their own careers, with “hard work, blind faith, passion for the cause, incessant networking and a vision that refuse[s] to be tarnished by naysayers.”

Paulus Hook Music Foundation Presents Cong Bi premiere piano solo recital at Carnegie Hall
Discovering the true elegance, and beauty of music, CONG BI is a young Chinese pianist residing in the United States. A dedicated, professional musician, Maestro Conductor Yu Long found his piano-playing “very handsome.”
Juilliard professor Robert McDonald had described CONG as "an extremely talented and promising pianist.” Ilya Hampus, a professor at the Cologne Conservatory in Germany, once commented, “He is very charming, with tremendous talent. I sincerely enjoy his performance, his music and sound are both wonderful.”
April 12, Friday, 7:30PM, the Paulus Hook Music Foundation in the United States will present CONG's premiere piano solo recital at the world-famous Carnegie Hall Zankel Hall in New York. This performance is in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-US diplomatic relations.

CONG, educated at Central Conservatory of Music, The Precollege of Julliard School of Music and Mannes School of Music, attributes his success to the Maestro’s, Professors, and fellow musicians who shared their knowledge with him. He sharpened skills under a long line of renowned piano professors including Ying Tan, Jinsong Xian and Qi Li at Xinghai Conservatory of Music; Professors Zhang Jinjiao, Du Taihang, Shao Dan Central Conservatory; Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Professor Huang Yulun, Juilliard’s Piano Professor Matti Raekallio and Mannes’ Chair of the Piano Department Pavlina Dokovska.
Fulfilling his stature as a musical prodigy at age 15, Chinese Maestro Long Yu invited CONG to perform Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.2 at Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, with China Philharmonic Orchestra.
Other notable accomplishments include:
- In 2011, Cong was invited by Polish Conductor Anna Mroz to play with Polish Toulon Symphony Orchestra.
- In 2012, he worked with Maestro Chen Xieyang and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, presenting a New Year Concert in Shanghai Concert Hall.
- In the same year, Maestro Yu, Long extended an invitation to play with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra on a German tour. Playing piano concerto "Er Huang" by composer Chen Qigang in Kiel Palace of Germany, and Leyce Concert Hall in Hamburg for the 27th German Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the largest music festival in Europe.
- In 2015, the 3rd Shenzhen Piano Music Festival invited CONG to accompany German conductor Guido Johannes Rumstadt and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra in the opening concert in Shenzhen Concert Hall.
- In 2018, CONG presented a “Seeking Roots” Piano Concerto series in China, playing Offenbach's "Ofio Overture," Mozart's No.21 Piano Concerto in C Major, Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto and Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto.
In addition to his activities on the concert platform as a solo pianist, CONG is also passionate about humanitarian work and music education. He has performed in New York’s charitable events and nursing homes for the elders and diseased and aims to help more people smile and find joy through his music. He has also given masterclasses and concerts in his hometown Guangzhou following an invitation from Steinway Piano; Renmin University of China; South China Normal University and Beijing Normal University…
