SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS: MUSIC THEATRE
This scholarship, created to identify young talent and to encourage the study of musical theater, is presented each year to a student at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Funded by an endowment from the Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation, it honors the music publisher Max Dreyfus who served on ASCAP's Board for 50 years and was a mentor to many musical theater legends. It is funded by a generous gift from the Max & Victoria Dreyfus Foundation. The recipient is selected by the musical theater faculty at the Tisch School for the Arts.
Students majoring in theatre arts or music theatre may apply for talent-based scholarships which are renewable for an additional 3 years. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $6,000 (music theatre) or $500 to $2,000 (theatre arts) annually and are based on application and audition/interview.
