FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The 2025 festival, entitled "Music & Storytelling," will illuminate the profound connections among literature, poetry, song, and music. The concerts mine the literary inspirations—both momentous and subtle—behind works including Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings, Schubert's Trout Quintet, and Janáček's Kreutzer Sonata, among others.
It will also feature distinguished artists such as clarinetist Anthony McGill, pianists Michael Stephen Brown and Gilles Vonsattel, bassist Timothy Cobb, flutist Emi Ferguson, and harpsichordist Arthur Haas. Author Richard Powers will make a special appearance with composer Perry Goldstein and baritone Randall Scarlata for the song collection "Birding by Ear," and actor David Strathairn and soprano Christine Goerke highlight the grand finale of Stravinsky's L'Histoire du soldat.
