Oxford International Song Festival (formerly Oxford Lieder)

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
This year's theme is "Stories in Song." Telling stories is a fundamental element of song, the fusion of words and music that creates such magical sparks. In this year's Festival we explore stories in many different forms, from fairytales and ballads, to the artistic relationships behind the songs, and the developing stories of national song traditions. Featured are Roderick Williams performing his own arrangement of Die schöne Müllerin with the Carducci String Quartet; Benjamin Appl's centenary tribute to his mentor Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau; the Erlkings celebrating their tenth anniversary with a new arrangement of Winterreise; a day of Spanish and Latin-American song; a Halloween concert; and much more.
