WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
Starting in 2021, Kean University president, Dr. Lamont Repollet, created the Jazz & Roots Music Festival as a "fun" raiser to give back to the surrounding community for their support of Kean University in Union, NJ.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Festival will take place Saturday, September 20, 2025 (raindate: Sunday, September 21, 2025), with the best of jazz, blues, and reggae at The Lawn at Enlow Hall, Kean University's East Campus, Hillside, NJ. This free outdoor festival, produced in collaboration with internationally acclaimed bassist/producer Mike Griot, is a growing New Jersey tradition-bringing together world-class musicians, great food, and an incredible community vibe. Past performers include Third World, Dianne Reeves, Stefon Harris & Blackout, Solomon Hicks, DJ Prince Hakim, Don Braden, Karl Latham Big Funk, Blues People, Dave Stryker, and more.
