FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Des Moines Metro Opera's 2025 festival season features the return of Wagner's The Flying Dutchman, a new production and company premiere of Janáček's The Cunning Little Vixen, and a new production of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress. Featured artists include Ryan McKinny, Julie Adams, Joseph Dennis, Kristopher Irmiter, Stephanie Sanchez, Demetrious Sampson Jr, Hera Hyesang Park, Roland Wood, Sun-Ly Pierce, Craig Colclough, David Cangelosi, Jonas Hacker, Joélle Harvey, Sam Carl, Vivica Genaux, Matt Boehler and Meredith Arwady. David Neely and Christopher Allen will conduct the 2025 season operas; Kristine McIntyre, Chas Rader-Shieber, and Joshua Borths will direct.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Glimmerglass Festival's exhilarating 50th-anniversary season centers on artists and creators, celebrates opera and musical theater legends, and introduces a thrilling world premiere opera based on a beloved book. Mainstage productions will include Tosca (Puccini), Sunday in the Park with George (Sondheim), The Rake's Progress (Stravinsky), and the world premiere of The House on Mango Street (Derek Bermel/Sandra Cisneros), based on the 1984 novel by Cisneros.
The Festival is also proud to bring former Artistic Director Francesca Zambello's acclaimed original production of Odyssey (Ben Moore/Kelley Rourke) to the Alice Busch Opera Theater for the first time. LOCATION
