The Kissinger Sommer 2023 is the second festival led by Artistic Director Alexander Steinbeis. Its theme "La Dolce Vita" will pay homage to Italy, since Gioachino Rossini was a prominent visitor to Bad Kissingen. Artistic highlights include visits by the Czech Philharmonic, the Bamberger Symphoniker, and DSO Berlin. Artists as varied as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Leif Ove Andsnes, Kent Nagano, Lisa Batiashvili, Grigory Sokolov, and Freddie De Tommaso will be among the festival's starry lineup.

Themed “Paradise for 2023,” this summer’s festival marks the 20th anniversary of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, with concerts led by Music Director Riccardo Chailly and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and a star-studded roster of guest artists and ensembles. Pianist Daniil Trifonov is "artiste étoile." Visiting ensembles include the Berlin and Vienna philharmonics, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The 2023 Mizzou International Composers Festival will feature Ensemble-in-residence Alarm Will Sound. Hailed by The New York Times as "one of the most vital and original ensembles on the American scene," the group will work intensively with eight resident composers—selected from an international pool of applicants—on the premieres of new works. Additionally, this year's festival will feature distinguished guest composers Tania León and Marcos Balter, who will have several works performed and coach the resident composers. There will also be performances by the Mizzou New Music Ensemble, University of Missouri faculty, and additional guest artists. All festival events are free and open to the public.

The Monteux School and Music Festival, founded as a school for conductors in 1943 by internationally renowned conductor Pierre Monteux, is one of the finest summer training programs and festivals of its kind. The school offers an intensive six-week program that includes a series of symphonic, chamber, and children's concerts in a creative, supportive environment. Conducting faculty include Tiffany Lu, Arthur Fagen, Julius Williams, Kenneth Kiesler, Hugh Wolff, and Markland Thakar. Monteux is also an orchestra and chamber music festival for all orchestral instrumentalists. The 77th Festival welcomes musician and composer Rhiannon Giddens as music director. Programs touch on Giddens' interests across musical boundaries, from opera and Baroque music to Black traditions in American roots music, from the classical traditions of music from China and Persia to the influence of non-Western music on American contemporary music. A few of the pillars include the world premiere of Omar's Journey, an Ojai-commissioned chamber work for voices and small ensemble from drawn from the opera and contextualized with music from Senegal and the Carolinas; a reimagining of Tan Dun's pioneering Ghost Opera; and a performance of Carlos Simon's cycle Between Worlds. Joining Giddens will be Kayhan Kalhor, Steven Schick, Francesco Turrisi, Wu Man, and the Attacca Quartet.

August 2023 marks the 26th Season of the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival and once more Founder and Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann is gathering the very finest musicians to present a wonderful mix of chamber music old and new. The season will include the world premiere of a string quartet by Jake Heggie performed by the Miro Quartet and the Northwest premiere of a piano quintet by John Wineglass. The 10 mainstage concerts are offered both in person and via livestream; there is also a children's concert, a performance on neighboring Lopez Island, and many other events for a season of music and good times in Washington State's San Juan Islands.

The Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF) is a summer music program directed by Kimberly Fisher, principal second violin of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra, offering student musicians from around the world the unique opportunity of spending up to four weeks immersed in music education and performance training with members of the Orchestra. Our outstanding summer music programs include private lessons, master classes, and faculty recitals with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra; daily orchestra, ensemble, and chamber music rehearsals; daily course electives; ample solo performance and competition opportunities; and more. There are five "in-person" summer program options for musicians ages 11 to 19: Symphony Orchestra, Solo Performance Preparation, Piano Studies, College Audition Preparation, and Chamber Music Intensive.
