Ravenna Festival
Ravenna Festival
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Italo Calvino's novel Invisible Cities creates imaginary cities that are characterized more as experiences, memories, and desires than as places; the centenary of the writer's birth offers the 34th edition of the Ravenna Festival a chance to reflect on the dual nature of the city, at the same time a symbol of human coexistence—a crossroads of cultures, ideas, and stories—and an embodiment of the crisis of communities, suffering from inequality, consumerism, standardization, pollution, etc. The program features such artists as Martha Argerich, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Riccardo Muti, Laurie Anderson, Eleonora Abbagnato, Beatrice Rana, Mischa Maisky, Aurora, Stefano Bollani, Tallis Scholars, Tenebrae Choir, King's Singers, Kraftwerk, Sinfonia Varsovia, ICK Dans Amsterdam.

Savonlinna Opera Festival
Savonlinna Opera Festival
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Magic Flute has been a quintessential shared experience at the Savonlinna Opera Festival for 50 years. We also found a production of Fiddler on the Roof, in which a glimmer of hope shines through the tears. As our summer premiere, we present Romeo and Juliet, the heart-wrenching story of young lovers. After the premiere of The Barber of Seville at Olavinlinna Castle, media speculated that the structure had never before witnessed as much laughter. A Room of One's Own is a women's opera about women. It will be coupled with Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle, a mythical journey into the depths of the human mind.
