FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Celebrate the 28th season of Music in the Vineyards, the nationally acclaimed chamber music festival held each summer in the Napa Valley. Each concert, set amidst a winery, barrel room, or wine cave venue, is hosted by Artistic Director Michael Adams, whose irreverent introductions and program notes are a beloved feature. The 2022 season will welcome more than 30 artists from around the world and three renowned string quartets: The Pacifica, the Escher, and, making their debut, the Maxwell Quartet from Scotland, known equally for its virtuosity in the classics and folk music from the British Isles. Also new this season is an evening of classic silent films, accompanied by newly composed music that re-creates the experience of moviegoers in the early days of cinema.

Ojai Music Festival
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The 75th-anniversary season features as its music director the AMOC (American Modern Opera Company), a multi-disciplinary collective of today's most inventive and adventurous musicians, singers, composers, choreographers, and dancers. The 2022 edition—June 9 to 12—reflects the openness and experimentation that are signature traits of Ojai, from Messiaen's song cycle Harawi and a Bach-inspired program to Anthony Cheung's new commission featuring works by Asian-American poets to the world premiere of Matthew Aucoin's Family Dinner, a cycle of new mini-concertos. The enchanting setting of the Ojai Valley creates a relaxed sense of community with no great divide between playing and listening. Instead, there is an informal bond that brings kindred spirits together for exploration and adventure.

Solsberg Festival
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Sol Gabetta has again successfully brought top-class musicians to the Fricktal region to celebrate chamber music with her: Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Bertrand Chamayou, or the Hagen Quartett are regular partners of hers. However, the Solsberg Festival always offers the chance to meet new chamber music partners, such as the English pianist Benjamin Grosvenor or the Israeli violinist Ilya Gringolts. We can also look forward to the substantial participation of Dmitry Smirnov, who has just won a prize at the ARD Music Competition and was until recently a student at the Basel Music Academie. In addition, we are delighted about the appearance of the French star soprano Léa Desandre, who is singing a leading role at the Zurich Opera House at the same time and is coming to Olsberg on a performance-free evening.
