WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
America's oldest music festival, Ravinia presents a range of events, including the annual summer residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as chamber music, jazz, country, and R&B, and popular artists. Ravinia's Steans Music Institute is the onsite conservatory for young professionals from around the world.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Ravinia Festival opens in June for the 2022 summer season, presenting its signature mix of classical, popular, jazz, world music, and chamber music programming. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will return to Ravinia in July for its six-week summer residency. Conductor Marin Alsop will lead three weeks of concerts as Ravinia’s chief conductor, including the first annual “Breaking Barriers” weekend, this year celebrating women conductors.
