Curtis offers several professional bridge programs designed for young artists beginning their professional careers. These include fellowship programs for conductors and string quartets which offer numerous performance opportunities and mentorship from the Curtis faculty and guest artists.
Alumni resources include access to the Careers in Music Speaker Series at Curtis, which showcases successful artists, industry experts, and ensembles who share their advice and perspective; an online alumni engagement community with access to a directory, discussion boards, and professional opportunity boards; and an alumni e-mail address to maintain a visible presence with Curtis. The Daniel W. Dietrich II Young Alumni Fund is an annual grant program as part of Curtis' ongoing efforts to strengthen support for alumni in the years that follow graduation and help young alumni who may be experiencing obstacles of any kind in the pursuit of their musical careers. MISSION
The Institute’s curriculum is holistic, where students take classes not only in music theory, production, songwriting, and technology, but in business, legal, writing, history, and emergent media as well. As an industry-based super program, we have embedded Professional Development as a pathway for each student with mandatory internships. In order to graduate successfully, students are required to present their business plan to industry professionals who offer help and assistance with exit strategy from the Institute and help launch our students’ careers in the business of music and entertainment.

Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, founded in 1950, provides training to 500 students at two locations at the heart of Berlin. Audition requirements for the Georgia State University School of Music vary by program. Undergraduate applicants must complete a live or virtual audition through Acceptd, which includes instrument-specific repertoire such as solos, etudes, scales, and sight-reading or performance excerpts. Panther Band auditions also involve warm-ups, the Alma Mater, Fight Song, and ensemble excerpts. Graduate applicants are required to perform a 20-30 minute live audition on their primary instrument and submit a repertoire list, with detailed requirements available by area. Our Longy coaches are expert in asking powerful questions that help you identify values, raise awareness, identify roadblocks, shift lenses, explore options and organize priorities.
You'll have access to career coaching throughout your entire graduate education (and beyond!). Coaching ties together the threads of the Catalyst Curriculumhelping to guide your selection of courses by taking you from where you are now to where you'd like to be at each point along your journey. Additionally, "The Multifaceted Career" provides weekly conversations with artists who embody this expansive, aligned, and integrated narrative of holistic career success. Combining an intensive, conservatory experience with the practicality of a music, business, and liberal arts curriculum, the McDuffie Center for Strings prepares the exceptional musician for success. McDuffie's distinguished faculty artists are dedicated to the development of young artists pursuing personal and musical excellence through four years of one-on-one mentorships.
