ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
Member of the WFIMC. More than 1,400 chamber artists took part in the CIMCL from 2004. Broadcast and streaming on Violin Channel. A large audience follows the competition in the most beautiful halls of Lyon city (Opéra, Université Lumière Lyon 2 Main Hall, conservatories). The competition involves: trio violin, cello and piano; string quartet; duo violin and piano; duo voice and piano; duo cello and piano; woodwind quintet.

ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
Established in 1953, this biennial competition hosted by the Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera rotates between violin and conducting. Talented candidates from all over the world are invited to be assessed by an internationally distinguished jury. Princess Astrid Mrs. Ferner of Norway is royal patron of the competition. ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
The competition will be held April 28 May 15, 2026. Stage I recitals will be 35-40 minutes; Stage II recitals will be 50-60 minutes. Final Stage will consist of three concerts, chamber music, classical concerto, and grand concerto. More than $120,000 cash prizes will be awarded; hotel accommodations will be free as will partial coverage of flight expenses; a practice piano will be provided in each hotel room.
