The Aspen Music Festival & School offers a summer experience like no other. Throughout its 76-year history, it has not only presented thousands of concerts, but also has been the place where so many young artists have met their mentors, found their voices, readied for their careers, and—on a deeper level—found themselves.

NEMC is designed to give students ages 9-19 the opportunity to immerse themselves in music while still enjoying the fun and friendship of summer. NEMC offers two bands, orchestras, choirs, and jazz bands, as well as extensive programming in piano, guitar, composition, chamber musical, classical voice, and musical theatre.

Oberlin Conservatory Summer Programs range from one to two weeks long. Students work and perform with resident and guest faculty, participate in daily master classes, build skills in individual and group coaching sessions, and gain insight into audition and performance techniques, among other skills. Up to four string quartets will be selected for this intensive five-day program for advanced, pre-formed emerging professional string quartets led by Sibbi Bernhardsson. Quartets will receive daily coaching by renowned string quartet artist-faculty, master classes, performance opportunities and career mentoring sessions.

Advanced string quartet intensive training program for serious pre-formed quartets to prepare for competitions, auditions, concerts, and quartet career preparation. Five days of coaching with Sibbi Bernhardsson, renowned professor of violin and chamber music at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, 17-year member of the Grammy-winning Pacifica Quartet.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
The 2026 Festival theme is "Cloth of Gold: Music of France and England." Gain new skills, insights, and inspiration in classes taught by faculty from the United States and Europe for an immersive week (or two) focusing on music of France and England from the 11th to the 18th centuries.
WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS PROGRAM
Two weeks of classes on Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music and dance. Scheduled classes run Monday through Friday. In the evening, there are lectures, concerts, madrigal singing in the courtyard, English country dancing, drop-in playing sessions, the AEM Auction, and socializing with early music enthusiasts from all over the world.

Summer Sonatina is a joyful, musically focused overnight camp for ages 7-17 that fuses high-level piano teaching with the magic of summer fun.
