The Aldeburgh Festival brings together outstanding musicians from around the world. The Festival has special significance in 2026: it marks 50 years since Benjamin Britten's death and reflects the legacy he and Peter Pears built, especially their commitment to supporting and celebrating young artists. Featured artist Ryan Wigglesworth will collaborate with fellow artists such as James Baillieu, Nicolas Altstaedt, Vilde Frang, Steven Osborne, and Lise Davidsen, alongside the next generation of emerging talent, in the spirit that has shaped the Festival since 1948.

Hosted since its founding in the 10,000-seat, open-air Roman amphitheater at the heart of the Italian city of Verona, the Arena di Verona Opera Festival is the largest, oldest, and most international opera festival in the world.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The festival's 103rd season takes place over 50 nights this summer. Central to the 2026 offerings are six classic Italian operas by Verdi and Puccini: a new production of La traviata, two contrasting treatments of Aïda, and stagings of Nabucco, Turandot, and La bohème. These will be complemented by a performance of Orff's Carmina Burana, two evenings of ballet, and a pair of immersive multimedia concerts. Roberto Alagna, Erin Morley, Anna Netrebko, Lisette Oropesa, and Ludovic Tézier are among the host of returning stars, while those making festival debuts include Operalia winner Mihai Damian and LA Opera's James Conlon.

In two weekends of themed concerts and panels, the 36th Bard Music Festival offers an intensive reexamination of "Mozart and His World" (August 7-16), complemented by The Egyptian Helen, Richard Strauss's rarely staged opera based on the Helen of Troy myth (July 24 - August 2). The Bergen International Festival is the largest curated festival of its kind in the Nordic countries. Bergen is the hometown of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, and concerts in his home are magical festival happenings.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The 2026 Festival opens on May 27 with Olivier Messiaen's Turangalîla-Symphonie, conducted by artist-in-residence Esa-Pekka Salonen and performed by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and soloists. On May 28, cultural icon Mari Boine brings her distinct voice to Håkonshallen. The following evening, May 29, soprano Lise Davidsen joins pianist James Baillieu exploring Schubert's most introspective and emotionally profound songs. On June 6, the Festival presents the world premiere of The Night People, an adventurous new Norwegian family opera. The Festival culminates on June 10 in a vibrant finale uniting rapper Lars Vaular, this year's concerto soloist Yulianna Avdeeva, and the Festival musicians of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason, artistic director of the BIT20 Ensemble.

As Franz Welser-Möst enters his 25th and final season as music director, The Cleveland Orchestra returns to Blossom Music Center for its summer festival with a program inspired by the spirit of Vienna. Idina Menzel joins the orchestra for a career-spanning evening of her greatest hits, while two programs celebrate the magic of film: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in concert and a tribute to the music of John Williams. Against the majestic backdrop of Colorado's Rocky Mountains, four internationally acclaimed orchestras — the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields—as well as renowned chamber ensembles and guest artists perform more than 60 concerts.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Bravo! Vail celebrates Anne-Marie McDermott as she concludes her 16-year tenure as artistic director. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The New York Philharmonic, and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields headline the orchestral series led by conductors including Marin Alsop, Elim Chan, Stéphane Denève, Fabio Luisi, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and Santtu-Matias Rouvali.

McDermott plays all five Beethoven Piano Concertos and premieres music by Aaron Jay Kernis. Illia Ovcharenko, Ilya Shmukler, Fei-Fei Dong, and Chaeyoung Park perform Beethoven's complete Piano Sonatas. Luisi conducts Puccini's Madama Butterfly in concert. Emanuel Ax, Marc-André Hamelin, Himari, Leonidas Kavakos, and Aristo Sham debut at Bravo! Vail; returning artists include Joshua Bell, Carter Brey, Yefim Bronfman, James Ehnes, Augustin Hadelich, Nemanja Radulović, Conrad Tao, Yuja Wang, and Alisa Weilerstein.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Bregenz Festival celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2026. It opens with a spectacular new production of Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata on the iconic open-air stage on Lake Constance, directed by Damiano Michieletto. At the Festspielhaus, Leoš Janáček's satirical opera The Excursions of Mr. Brouček returns in a new staging by Yuval Sharon. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra performs the festival's orchestral concert series, joined by international soloists and conductors. Additional highlights include chamber music concerts and contemporary opera productions on the Werkstattbühne. As a special anniversary event, the festival presents its first "Singalong at the Lake," where audiences join the festival chorus to perform famous opera choruses together.
