Ariodante by GF Handel, August 3-17: Conductor: Ian Page; director: Nicola Raab; choreographer: Caroline Finn; light and stage design: Linus Fellbom; costumes: Gesine Völlm. Cast: Johannes Weisser, Roberta Mameli, Francesca Aspromonte, Ann Hallenberg, Martin Vanberg, Christophe Dumaux. Ariodante had its original première in 1735 at London's Covent Garden, and was staged for the first time in Sweden in 1964, at Drottningholms Slottsteater. Mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg (Ariodante) has been appointed artist in residence at Drottningholms Slottsteater for the coming two years. During the summer also concerts, events, and activities for children. Guided tours daily April-October.

Eastern Music Festival

Festival Performances will include five Eastern Festival Orchestra Saturday evening, 8pm, performances: June 29, July 6, 13, 20, 27. Also eight Young Artists Orchestra performances are scheduled for Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm: June 28, July 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 18, 25 and 26. Also offered: faculty and guest artist chamber music performances weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays and guest artist recitals throughout the summer. Featured artists include: The Pacifica String Quartet; Jeffrey Multer, violin; Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, violin; Mark Peskanov, violin; William Wolfram, piano; Awadagin Pratt, piano; Horacio Gutierrez, piano; and a professional teaching/performing faculty of 70-plus.

The Gilmore Keyboard Festival

The 2020 Gilmore Keyboard Festival features more than 50 pianists and 200 artists in nearly 100 concerts and events including classical, jazz, and theater performances, as well as master classes. Highlights of the Festival include a nine-day collaborative, interdisciplinary Partitura Residency with pianist Maria Joao Pires. Additional performances will be made public in November 2019.
