WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
IKIF participant students have the opportunity to hear their teachers in performance and can choose the teachers or teachers they wish to study with during the festival. The public can attend master classes and concerts as auditors. The IKIF Competition will award $10,000 plus a performance opportunity at IKIF 2020.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Masters Series recitals in Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center: Jerome Rose, Jeffrey Swann, George Li, Vadym Kholodenko, Alon Goldstein, Vladimir Feltsman. Masters Series recitals in Lang Recital Hall at Hunter College: Geoffrey Burleson, Sean Chen, Ian Fountain, Martin Garcia Garcia, Massimiliano Ferrati, Nina Tichman, Ilya Yakushev.Prestige Series recitals in Lang Recital Hall: Aleksandra Kasman, Mao Fujita, Vyacheslav Gryaznov, Yinuo Wang, Vladimir Rumyantsev, and Aristo Sham.
Free lecture: "Fryderyk Chopin: A Life and Times" with biographer Alan Walker; Jeffrey Siegel concert with commentary: "Bach & Chopin"; Yuan Sheng recital of Chopin.
