Hollywood Chamber Orchestra to Perform at The Future is Female: A Concert for Women in Film May 7

March 8, 2017 | By Mark Robertson
Music Director
The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce that it will be the featured orchestra for "The Future is Female: A Concert for Women in Film", produced by composer/singer Tori Letzler. The performance will be Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the Moss Theater in Santa Monica, CA. Ten female composers will be the stars on this evening, showcasing the diverse talents their education and experience has provided.

The ten composers are: Anne-Kathrin Dern, Brooke deRosa, Edith Mudge, Jessica Rae Huber, Jessie Weiss, Nami Melumad, Perrine Virgile-Piekarsk, Tangelene Bolton, Tori Letzler, and Vivian Aguiar-Buf.

From Ms. Letzler:

"The goal of this concert is to shed light on how many talented women are currently working in this industry, but whom are often overlooked. This concert features ten up and coming female composers, all currently working in the film, television, and video game industry.. Each composer will be presenting an original work, performed by a 31 piece orchestra. Now more than ever, it is important that we support these women! In order for the industry to welcome us as equals, we have to be welcomed as such by our peers. We need your help, to show that there is room for all of us to come together and create beautiful music to help tell stories and inspire."

There is a GoFundMe active to support this concert.
