Aspen Music Fest Hires Eastman School Concert Mgr

December 7, 2016 | By Nicholas Beard, MusicalAmerica.com

Keith Elder, director of concert activities at the Eastman School of Music, will become VP and general manager of the Aspen Music Festival and School as of January 23. He’ll be working with Music Director Robert Spano and CEO Alan Fletcher, overseeing all educational and festival operations, including facilities and contracts for faculty, media, rentals, and collaborations with other institutions.

Elder succeeds Daniel Song, who left in September to become VP and general manager of the San Diego Symphony.

Elder started at Eastman in 2012, following four years in private practice in Massachusetts as an attorney. Before that he was for 18 months with the Detroit Symphony as VP of operations, and before that served as touring and production manager for the Boston Pops for nine years.

His JD is from the New England School of Law and his BS is from Indiana University at Bloomington.
