Bandoneonist/Composer Daniel Binelli and Pianist Polly Ferman in Concert on May 28 and 29 with Brazil’s Orquesta Filarmonica de Minas Gerais

Argentinean bandoneonist/composer Daniel Binelli and Uruguayan-American pianist Polly Ferman will be in concert on Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29 at 8:30 PM each evening with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Minas Gerais, Fabio Mechetti, Director, in the Sala Minas Gerais at Rua Tenente Brito Melo, 1090, Barro Preto, Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

The program will feature Binelli’s Homage to Tango, double concerto for piano, bandoneon and orchestra, commissioned by Utah University and performed by the composer and Ms. Ferman. See a video of it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8FFXqj9tmI.

Other works on the program include Chavez’ Sinfonia No. 2, India, Albeniz’ Suite from Iberia and De Falla’s Suite No. 2 from The Three Cornered Hat.

Daniel Binelli is an internationally renowned master of the bandoneon, acclaimed as the foremost exponent and torchbearer of the music of Astor Piazzolla. As a composer, many international orchestras, ensembles, Tango companies and soloists have commissioned and/or performed his works, including the Zurich Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Colorado Music Festival, Montevideo Philharmonic, Colombia Symphony, and Buglisi/Foreman Dance Company as well as Osvaldo Pugliese Orquesta Tipica (Argentina) and Tango 7 (Switzerland).
