UNA Welcomes Conductor James Burton
A resident of London, the internationally acclaimed choral director and conductor of leading orchestras and opera companies, after leading a series of Don Giovanni performances at the English National Opera, will be on the podium of an extended UK tour of Così fan tutte with the English Touring Opera. Opening night scheduled for March 2nd at the Hackney Empire in London.
Leading the St. Endellion Easter Festival in Cornwall as principal conductor, a 10th anniversary reunion concert with the Halle Youth Orchestra (which Mr. Burton co-founded) in Manchester and concerts at the Bachendrome Festival in France round out his 2013 spring and summer schedule.
In September, Maestro Burton is expected at the Metropolitan Opera in New York to assist with the US Premiere of Nico Muhly’s Two Boys.
