Meira Warshauer to Speak at Coastal Carolina U. in Conway, SC - February 13

Composer Meira Warshauer will be giving a lecture titled My Life in Music on Friday, February 13 at 11:30 AM at Edwards Recital Hall of Coastal Carolina University, 1270 Atlantic Avenue in Conway, South Carolina. She will be a plenary speaker for the Celebration of Inquiry symposium.
This will be the first event of Ms. Warshauer’s residency at the University. Other events in the residency will include a Faculty Chamber Concert featuring her compositions on March 31, 2009, and another talk, which is scheduled for April 1 for the school’s Women's Studies Dept. The residency also includes two commissions for performing ensembles at Coastal Carolina--the concert band and the chorus, which will be presented in Spring 2010. The composer will spend the Fall in collaboration with the ensembles, writing the music and lecturing for the Music Department during the Fall semester.
