WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
A week-long retreat for adult musicians, The Walden School Creative Musicians Retreat is a unique community: a diverse mix of professional musicians, hobbyists and amateurs, undergraduate and graduate students. Composers, improvisers, electronic musicians, music teachers, choral musicians are encouraged to attend the retreat and emerge inspired.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Walden School invites composers, improvisers, electronic musicians, performers of new music, choral musicians and music teachers to participate in a week of concerts, composers' forums, presentations, and workshops. The Mivos Quartet, 2016's ensemble-in-residence, will be available to teach lessons and offer coaching to performers, and will workshop and perform pieces by participating composers. Michael Daugherty, the 2016 Composer- in-Residence, will offer private lessons, lead master classes, and moderate the three composer's forums.
