WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
Artosphere: Arkansas Arts and Nature Festival is a major regional arts festival initiative which celebrates artists influenced by nature who inspire us to live more sustainably. Featuring performing and visual arts, education, community outreach and elements of sustainability, Artosphere provides access to high-quality artistic experiences for all.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The 2016 Artosphere Festival will celebrate Art, Music, and Nature for our 7th season with performances throughout Northwest Arkansas. Featured events include: The Artosphere Festival Orchestra – comprised of more than ninety musicians from around the world conducted by Maestro Corrado Rovaris- returns for three featured concerts. The orchestra will perform a 10 x 10 Arts Series performance of Russian Masterworks showcasing works by Mussorgsky and Rachmaninoff, featuring Italian pianist Benedetto Lupo, Heroic Beethoven complemented by the American debut of Impetus by Daniel Schnyder featuring The Dover Quartet and Live from Crystal Bridges: Mozart in the Museum featuring soprano soloist Deanna Breiwick and will be broadcast live on KUAF 91.3 FM Public Radio from the Great Hall at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Also included in this two week festival is our signature Trail Mix when community members walk, hike or bike and enjoy nature, listen to music groups performing along the Regional Razorback Greenway and interact with site-specific artwork, such as Polyglot Theatre’s Ants and The Bike Zoo.
The Artosphere Festival prides itself on being accessible and entertaining to audience members of all ages. This year we have various family friendly performances - including Chamber Music performances by the Dover and Auizuri Quartets, SPIN, Paula Fuga, The Barefoot Movement, Circa's Carnival of the Animals, Egg, The Okee Dokee Brothers and Bike-itecture Tours.
