ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
Since 1991, Stiftung Niedersachsen has been presenting the ›Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover. Those who succeed, having shown their special talent, virtuosity, and artistic personality, will be rewarded with impressive monetary prizes, a three-year loan of a Guadagnini-violin, debut performance opportunities, and the worldwide distribution of a CD recording.

JJV Hannover 2018 welcomes violinists of all nations born between October 27, 1990 and October 13, 2002.

SEMIFINALS (live rounds)
October 18-21, Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, Hanover, Germany. Semifinalists will play a recital containing the commissioned work as well as an encore; the encore must be announced to the audience. Six semifinalists will reach the final rounds.
FINALS (live rounds)
October 22-26, Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and NDR Landesfunkhaus, Hanover, Germany. Each finalist will perform a string quintet (first violin part) as well as a violin concerto with the NDR Radiophilharmonic Orchestra.
