Audition Requirements
All programs in the Jacobs School of Music require an audition or interview, and in some cases, both. Many programs also require a pre-screening.

Select your area’s page for more information regarding audition/interview and/or prescreen repertoire requirements. Many of our programs require you to submit prescreen recordings and/or materials. These are due on December 1, 2023, and must be uploaded and submitted to your Jacobs School of Music Supplemental Application. Live auditions and interviews are held over three weekends on the Bloomington campus. If you are unable to attend one of the live audition weekends, please see your area’s audition page for alternative audition/interview methods. Audition weekends for entry into the 2024-25 school year are: January 12-13, February 2-3, and March 1-2, 2024.

Career Assistance
Offerings include expert guidance, education programs, extensive resources, project mentoring, as well as a wide variety of events. An undergraduate Certificate in Music Entrepreneurship (15 credits) is offered by the OECD in partnership with the Kelley School of Business.
