WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
The Boston Early Music Festival offers GRAMMY Award-winning Baroque opera and is North America's premier Festival for Early Music.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
The 2023 Boston Early Music Festival will be presented June 4-11. Themed "A Celebration of Women," the week will feature the fully staged modern premiere of Herni Desmarest's Circé, the first opera by a female librettist, Louise-Geneviève Gillot de Saintonge, and a revival of our 2018 production of Alcina the first opera by a female composer, Francesca Caccini. Dozens of concerts will continue the celebration, along with lectures, master classes, the Exhibition, and a Fringe series. Festival opera tickets for 2023 go on sale in the summer of 2022 with the full schedule of concerts available in fall 2022.
