WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
The festival invites nearly 100 young orchestral musicians, chosen from very competitive auditions, to study and perform the major works of the orchestral literature under renowned conductors. Each Orchestra Fellow receives a full fellowship for study.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Olshan Texas Music Festival brings 100 of classical music’s rising stars from around the world to Houston each June to develop skills in orchestral, chamber music, and solo performance. Under the leadership of an exceptional performing artist/ faculty, Fellows perform four major orchestral programs. Conductors: Andrés Franco, Daniel Hege, Franz Anton Krager, Brett Mitchell. Soloists: Cynthia Clayton, soprano; Lucie Robert, violin; winner, Mitchell Young Artist Competition. Additional summer institutes include: Le chiavi di bel canto, The Informed Flutist, and High School Jazz Institute. With over 20 public concerts and 30 public master classes, TMF is Houston’s largest presenter of classical music each June.
