WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
At Chautauqua, the programs are designed for exceptional students from ages 17 to 25. The festival is akin to a professional experience and students need to be prepared to undertake the demands of the seven-week curriculum. The schools of music dance theater and art are represented by professional counterparts.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Voice students will be performing Turn of the Screw, an evening of opera scenes, and Carousel. Piano students can take part in both the SAI Competition and the annual Chautauqua Piano Competition. Orchestral highlights: Prokofiev Symphony No. 5; Korngold Symphony in F-sharp; Debussy La Mer and Stravinsky Firebird Suite (1919).
