WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS FESTIVAL
Nestled in the valley of a world-class ski resort The Pavilion, built of exposed timber with a bowstring-like truss ceiling, was designed to showcase the magnificent sound inside. The small 560-seat venue provides an intimate evening and getting to know a musician after a concert is part of the experience.
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Under the direction of new Music Director Michael Sachs, Principal Trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra, the 2015 classical season features leading players from U.S. orchestras in 12 performances. Soloists include Jason Vieaux with harpist Yolanda Kondonassis, Mark Nuccio on clarinet with the Strings Festival Orchestra, Cliburn Gold Medalist Olga Kern in recital, and Michael Sachs on the conductor's podium and as a soloist. Chamber music and dance come together with the help of faculty from the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp. Non-classical artists include country's Vince Gill, jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, country group Lonestar, and pop favorites Exile and Juice Newton.
