ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
Created by Sharon Azrieli CQ for the Azrieli Foundation, the Azrieli Music Prizes celebrate excellence in composition through four prizes, each valued at CA$200,000: The Azrieli Commission for Canadian Music, the Azrieli Prize for Jewish Music, the Azrieli Commission for Jewish Music, and the Azrieli Commission for International Music.

ELIGIBILITY
The Azrieli Music Prizes are open to composers worldwide, with the exception of the Canadian Commission, which is open to citizens and residents of Canada. Scores, proposals and supporting documents are accepted from nominators and individual composers of all ages, genders, faiths, backgrounds and levels of experience.

Application notes The call for proposals for the 2026 competition will open on February 7, 2025, with a focus on works for orchestra and choir with optional soloists (maximum of four). Applications will be accepted online. See here for more information.
FINALS (live rounds)
The AMP Gala Concert is traditionally held in October on even years in Montréal, Canada. The date for the 2026 AMP Gala Concert will be announced. Check here for more information.
The 2024 AMP Gala Concert was held on October 28, 2024, with Performance Partner l'Orchestre symphonique de Montréal Chorus.
