Colorado College Summer Music Festival & Concerto Reading Competition
Colorado College Summer Music Festival & Concerto Reading Competition
ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
Now in its 40th Anniversary season, the Colorado College Summer Music Festival is an intensive three-week program for 54 advanced student musicians, including violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, piano, and conducting. The participants are chosen from a field of hundreds of applicants to take part in this unique program of learning and public performances.

All participants take part in a concert series including formal and informal chamber music concerts, five orchestra performances, including a free children's concert, and several off-campus outreach concerts. Six to eight students are chosen by audition for concerto readings with the orchestra in performances that are open to the public.

All accepted participants attend on a full scholarship, valued at $3,000. The scholarship includes room, board (lunch and dinner), tuition, and extra-curricular activities such as field trips in the Colorado Springs and Pike's Peak region.
