SEMIFINALS (live rounds)
The preliminary rounds are held over two days at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, with 40 participants. Each participant will perform 1 aria and 1 Lied, accompanied by piano. The competition will provide pianists, but competitors may bring their own pianist.
The competition’s jury will select 12 singers to perform in the semifinal at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. Each participant will perform one or two arias and two or three Lieder, accompanied by piano.
FINALS (live rounds)
Six candidates will be admitted to the final. The repertoire is chosen by the jury from the contestant’s list of arias and the competition’s list of duets. The pieces are to be performed with the Norwegian National Opera Orchestra. The final concert is held in the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, Main House, and will be broadcast by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).
