ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
The competition takes place in ístí nad Orlicí, Czech Republic, the birthplace of the violin virtuoso and composer Jaroslav Kocian. The aim of the competition is to support young talented violinists, to create opportunities to meet and to compete with support and assistance of professional international juries.

ELIGIBILITY
Competitor must be under 16 years of age and be capable of playing compulsory composition for his/her category. For 2022 these compositions are: 1st category (year of birth 2012 or younger): -Antonín Dvořák: Sonatina in G Major, op. 100, 1st movement 2nd category (year of birth 2011 and 2010): -Bohuslav Martinů: Arabesques No. 5 and No. 4 3rd category (year of birth 2009 and 2008): -Jaroslav Kocian: Intermezzo pittoresque, op. 18, No. 2 4th category (year of birth 2007 and 2006): -Otakar Ševcík: Holka modrooká op. 10, No. 1 (The Girl with Blue Eyes) Note: original version with double flageolets
