William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition
ABOUT THIS COMPETITION
The William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition is an annual event that takes place at the Flint Institute of Music, Flint, MI. The winner receives $6,000 and the opportunity to perform with the Flint Symphony Orchestra. The second place winner receives $2,500. Three other finalists receive $1,000.

ELIGIBILITY
Instrumentalists must not be older than 32 on the day of the competition. For voice, the contestants music not be older than 35.

Auditions for up to 30 contestants are held during the day at the Flint Institute of Music, Flint, Michigan. At the end of the audition (semi-final) round, five contestants are selected to compete in the evening finals and must perform their full music score from memory.
