PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Eastman is excited to welcome several new programs this year: "The Art of the Orchestral Audition: A Guide for Clarinetists" (taught by former Boston Symphony Orchestra musician Michael Wayne); "The Unbroken Circle: Native American Song and Dance Workshop;" "Eastman Percussion Festival" with Michael Burritt; online diction courses in Russian and Spanish.
Classic courses returning this summer include the Eastman Experience precollegiate programs for classical and jazz studies; institutes for flute, organ, saxophone, trumpet, horn, and trombone; choral conducting workshops with William Weinert; "Music Theory APSI – Teacher Training" for high school teachers wanting to teach AP Music Theory; "Summer Wind Conducting Institute" with Mark Scatterday, Donald Hunsberger, and musicians from the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra; "Singing Gregorian Chant and Renaissance Polyphony – Chicago."
WHAT DISTINGUISHES THIS PROGRAM
The Eastman School of Music Summer@Eastman program offers students and the community an individualized, world-class music experience. Choose from residential music programs and camps for middle and high school students, week-long workshops and institutes for adults, and collegiate classes in Music Education, Music History, and Music Theory.
