Applications for the 2022-2023 academic year of the Reina Sofia School of Music (Madrid, Spain) are open

January 20, 2022 | By Reina Sofia School of Music

The Reina Sofia School of Music has opened its admission process. Applications will be open until 10 February 2022 for any young musician interested in one of the studies offered: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in Music Performance/Composition, Foundation Course, and Diploma in Music Performance/Composition.

The selection of the students is carried out through an audition process, in which talent is the only criterion. With an average admission rate of 6%, the Reina Sofía School is one of Europe’s most selective schools. The auditions will be taking place between March and May 2022, depending on the speciality chosen.

All students enjoy free tuition, thanks to the scholarships granted by the sponsors of the School, and, additionally, the School has a system of financial assistance to make it easier for students to meet all their needs during the academic year.

The Reina Sofía School of Music offers 13 specialities: violin (professors: Zakhar Bron, Marco Rizzi, Christoph Poppen); viola (professors: Diemut Poppen, Nobuko Imai); cello (professors: Ivan Monighetti, Jens Peter Maintz); double bass (professor: Wies de Boevé); flute (professor: Jacques Zoon); oboe (professor: Hansjörg Schellenberger); clarinet (professor: Pascal Moraguès); bassoon (professor: Gustavo Núñez); French horn (professor: Radovan Vlatkovic); trumpet (professor: Reinhold Friedrich); piano (professors: Milana Chernyavska, Galina Eguiazarova); voice (professor: Susan Bullock CBE), and composition (professor: Fabián Panisello).

Every year, more than 150 students from over 30 nationalities study at the School, considered to be one of the best schools in Europe, where they receive personalised training from great internationally renowned professors. Students also have the opportunity to perform in the extensive concerts programme organised by the School on an annual basis at its auditorium, as well as all over Spain.

You may find all the information regarding the admission process here.
