Classical pianist Susan Merdinger joins Vida Art Management’s roster

November 12, 2020 | By Miguel Tarrosa
Assistant Manager for Sheridan Music Studio

Multi-awarded and internationally-acclaimed classical pianist, music director, and educator Susan Merdinger is now represented by Vida Art Management. The agency’s roster consists of musicians from around the world, specializing in Classical music, Jazz music, and World music. Vida Art collaborates with artists and companies to provide the best concerts combining the highest standards of music and management.

Susan’s career spans almost 4 decades now. With awards such as Two-time Gold Medalist of the Global Music Awards, First Prize at the International Music Competition of France in 2013, Honored Artist of The American Prize 2019, First Prizes in the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competitions for Solo and Duo, and Winner of Artists International in New York under her belt, she is surely a force to be reckoned with.

Performances by the Steinway artist have been hailed as "exhilarating" by the Scotland Herald, while the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung declared her playing was "breathtaking, daring, and enormously joyous.” Critics are unanimous in their descriptions of Susan's fire, passion, thought-provoking interpretations, and astonishing technique that goes beyond the mere playing of  notes on a page; every work she presents with a masterful sound and style, reminiscent of the "Golden Era of Pianists.” Het Vaderland has said that she “shows her mastery of the piano in endless differentiation. Her musicality and her intuition originate directly from her pure heart.”

Her latest collaborative album American Melting Pot is entered in the 63rd Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Classical Solo Instrumental (Album), Best Classical Contemporary Compositions (Aaron Alter, Elbio Barilari), and Best Arrangement—Instrumental or A Capella (Ilya Levinson).  It has also won Gold Medal in the Global Music Awards for Album and Instrumentalist 2019, and Best Classical  Album in the Clouzine International Music Awards 2019

As Sheridan Music Studio’s founder, Susan is currently busy with the curation and management of their two flagship concert series—Music With a View and Blue Skies, aside from her other ongoing shows—Merdinger's Musings and Steinway Sundays with Susan and Svetlana. She is also currently In.Live’s Classical Music Artistic Advisor. As she joins Vida Art Management, she’ll surely be returning to Europe as soon as the pandemic situation blows over and allows for events to be held again.
