Music of Georg Schoenberg in Concert on August 6 at Villa Spaun in Traunkirchen, Austria

The Austrian premiere of Georg Schoenberg's Sieben Balladen will be presented on Tuesday, August 6 at 6 PM at the Villa Spaun in Traunkirchen, Austria, courtesy of Herr Christoph Cornaro.
Performing will be Volksopera baritone Steven Schesschareg and Charles Prince, pianist. The program also includes Schubert’s Wanderers Nachtlied, Arnold Schoenberg’s Arie aus dem Spiegel von Arcadien and Alexander von Zemlinsky’s Wanderers Nachtlied, Abendstern, Das Rosenband.
Georg Schoenberg was the oldest son of Arnold Schoenberg by his first wife, Mathilde, sister of Austrian composer Alexander von Zemlinsky. Georg was a composer in his own right, but only a few of his compositions have been performed in Austria.
Due to the advocacy for his music by Nancy Bogen, last year an Austrian audience heard the Austrian premiere of his Vier Klavierstücke, performed by Henri Sigfridsson. Ms. Bogen’s video for Georg Schönberg's Mein Lebenslauf is viewable on Vimeo at http://vimeo.com/57700758.
Nancy Bogen was the founder and Artistic Director of The Lark Ascending, a mixed-media performance organization, which ran from 1997 to 2008. One of the things she developed for this unique organization was what she termed a "slide-choreography," a meaningful marriage of music, poetry, and her unique visual imagery. She is creating a growing catalog of these videos, including Textur, based on the music of Austrian composer Katerina Klement, available for viewing at http://vimeo.com/14526527.
