What's in a meme?

A meme is an image and/or quote that “catches on” across numerous social media platforms over a given period of time. “Cats that look like Hitler,” mentioned in a scene in three-year-old film The Social Network, has infiltrated cyberspace to such an extent that it has become a web site and has its own Wikipedia entry. At the moment Goucho is the top cat, but we especially liked No. 3, Dolfern.
