Tickets Available Now for “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! In Concert” at Trapp Family Lodge on August 13-15, 2025

Stowe, Vermont – November 25, 2024 The Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Theatre Company, Trapp Family Lodge, The Flynn, and Stowe Performing Arts  announce their latest summer musical collaboration, “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! In Concert,” taking place at the Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow August 13, 14, and 15, 2025 at 7:30 PM.

Audience members can experience the Oscar- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical score brought to life in concert by a full orchestra, soloists, and chorus. Set in Oklahoma in 1906, the musical depicts a love story between a farm girl and a cowboy and the growing rivalry between the cowboys and local farmers. It is the first musical written by the famous duo of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, and features well-loved tunes including “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin” and “Oklahoma”.

“This program is quintessentially American,” said Christopher James Ray, who will conduct the concerts. “Oklahoma! embodies frontier life and the birth of a new state through its music. As the audiences listen to the rich score, they’ll be able to follow the arc of the story and feel how the music captures that time and place. I am excited to bring this story to life with the VSO, together with Lyric Theatre, The Flynn, Stowe Performing Arts, and Trapp Family Lodge—allowing the audience to experience firsthand the powerful music of my favorite Rodgers & Hammerstein classic.”

Members and subscribers of Lyric Theatre Company, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe Performing Arts, and The Flynn are able to access a ticket pre-sale from November 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM to November 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Starting November 29 at 10:00 AM, tickets will be available to the general public.

Ticket Details:

  • General admission tickets are $79. A limited quantity of VIP tickets are available at $125 and include premium parking next to the Concert Meadow, provision of a chair and premium seating, a complimentary beverage at the onsite bier tent, and a special Oklahoma! branded gift.
  • In the event of inclement weather, performances will be relocated to The Flynn in Burlington.

This in-concert presentation for 2025 builds on the success of the partnership among the above-mentioned organizations when they presented “The Sound of Music: In Concert” to sold out audiences in 2024.

About Trapp Family Lodge:

In the early 1940s, the von Trapp family toured the United States as the Trapp Family Singers before eventually settling in Stowe, Vermont on an enchanted farm with sweeping mountain vistas reminiscent of their beloved Austria. In the summer of 1950, they began welcoming guests to a rustic, 27-room family home/lodge, and Trapp Family Lodge was born. Today, Trapp Family Lodge is a unique 96 room, four-season resort specializing in European-style accommodations and cuisine, spectacular mountain vistas, upscale amenities and outdoor activities. Situated on 2,600 acres overlooking the classic New England village of Stowe, Vermont, the Trapp Family Lodge is the perfect setting for a vacation during any season.

About Lyric Theatre Company:

Lyric Theatre Company was founded in 1973, and is now proudly celebrating its 51st Season. Each season represents the work of nearly 400 volunteers who donate upwards of 20,000 hours of their time, alongside a small paid staff and a dynamic group of community partners and supporters who power the work of the organization. In addition to two large-scale musicals on the Flynn Main Stage in Burlington each year, Lyric also produces a diverse season of theatrical offerings and serves as a hub of volunteerism for the region year-round.

About the Flynn:

The Flynn, a member-supported performing arts center in Vermont, was established in 1930 as a state-of-the-art vaudeville and motion pictures venue. Year round, the Flynn welcomes international, national, and regional artists to perform on the original Main Stage as well as in the intimate black box theater Flynn Space; offers a diverse array of classes and camps held in Flynn studios; presents the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival; and supports local and visiting artists through residencies and commissions.
