MidAmerica Productions Inc. Announces 2024 Concert Season at Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall
MidAmerica Productions 40th Season highlights include works by John Rutter, premieres by Marc-André Bougie, Reginal Wright, Terre Johnson, a Memorial Day concert of American Folk Hymns, the Crystal Children’s Choir, and more
(For Immediate Release: February 21, 2024, NEW YORK)— MidAmerica Productions Inc. today announced programming for its 2024 season at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, marking the 40th anniversary of the company. At present, MidAmerica Productions has presented “more choral concerts at Carnegie Hall than any other (over 1,400 concerts to date)” according to Sir Clive Gillinson CBE, Executive and Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall. The season includes captivating performances from March through June, featuring works by Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, and contemporary composers such as Dan Forrest, Karl Jenkins, and Eric Whitacre.
Programming highlights include a family-friendly afternoon featuring the Crystal Children’s Choir on March 31, the return of composer John Rutter to the podium, conducting his Magnificat and Celebration on May 27, and choirs from 31 US states, four Canadian provinces, and seven countries.

This season, MidAmerica Productions introduces limited front row $10 rush tickets available one hour before the concert at the box office, first come, first served.

The New England Symphonic Ensemble, led by Charlene Pauls and featuring choruses from around the country, performs Mendelssohn's Psalm 42, Op. 42. Then, Jeffery Goolsby conducts Dvorák's Te Deum and Eriks Ešenvalds' Trinity Te Deum. Nancy Klein takes the baton for Poulenc's Gloria, followed by Elisa Fraser Wilson directing Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna. Then, the Tomball Memorial High School Choir and Orchestra performs as part of MidAmerica’s Ensemble Spotlight Series.

Additionally, guest conductor Leslie Dala leads a performance of Mozart's Mass in C Major, K. 317 "Coronation Mass” and composer/conductor Marc-André Bougie conducts the New York premiere of his Magnificat, both featuring the New England Symphonic Ensemble, distinguished soloists and choruses from across the United States.

ABOUT MIDAMERICA PRODUCTIONS AND MIDAM INTERNATIONAL
Peter Tiboris created and conducted his first concert in New York on January 7, 1984, at Lincoln Center, featuring The American Symphony Orchestra, soloists, and three choruses, the Louisiana Chorale of Acadiana, Camerata Singers of Baton Rouge, and Collegiate Chorale of New York.
For 40 years, MidAmerica Productions has brought together conductors, soloists, and choral and orchestral ensembles from the U.S. and abroad to appear at New York’s top venues, including Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Weill Recital Hall, and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall; and Alice Tully Hall and Avery Fisher Hall (now David Geffen Hall) at Lincoln Center. In addition to presenting orchestral and choral works, MidAmerica Productions has championed contemporary composers with 98 World Premieres, 38 United States Premieres, and 121 New York Premieres.
In 2004, MidAm International, Inc. was formed to support MidAmerica’s growing presence in Europe. Since then, concerts have taken place in countries throughout the world, including Greece, England, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Italy, France, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Mexico.
