The premiere on October 7 is the first of a series of performances of the popular Da Ponte opera, which will extend into December.

The production, originally staged by Paul-Émile Fourny, was revised by Anselmi Hirvonen. South African baritone Jacques Imbrailo takes on the title role, with Henning von Schulman as Leporello, Matilda Sterby as Donna Anna and Rachael Wilson as Donna Elvira.

Wolfgang Wengenroth will conduct all performances. He is a welcome guest in the city at the Oresund where he celebrated a great success with Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
