The conductor has won the Special Prize of the Spanish Association of Orchestra Conductors (AESDO) in the I Conducting Competition "Llíria, City of Music" that took place in the Valencian municipality from July 12 to 17.

Daniel Ros has been recognized with the AESDO Special Prize, endowed with 1000 euros and the possibility of collaborating, during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, with orchestras of national prestige such as the FSMCV Young Symphony Orchestra, the Young Orchestra of Extremadura, the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, the Harmonie Ensemble or the ESMAR Orchestra.

This prize is another step in the rising career of the young conductor, whose talent was already evident in his work as assistant conductor of the Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra and ADDA·Simfònica. "This award is a great incentive to continue putting enthusiasm and effort in what I find most fulfilling, which is music," says Daniel Ros, who sees in this recognition a great opportunity to continue growing as a conductor.

"Working with young orchestras always leads to mutual learning, because these are the places where the musicians of national and European professional orchestras come from", Daniel Ros reminds us. Spain is one of the countries that exports top-quality musicians, so the conductor appreciates this type of initiative that is committed to young talent.

The I Conducting Competition "Llíria, City of Music" received 188 entries from young conductors all over the world, among which 25 were selected to participate in the competition. "The best thing about this experience is being able to share impressions with my colleagues and learn from them," says Daniel Ros. He also thanks the AESDO for the award and for the effort made to provide collaboration between conductors and between orchestras and conductors. "It is a lonely profession and these initiatives make us feel accompanied and supported," acknowledges the conductor.

Llíria has already carried out numerous activities despite the restrictions caused by the COVID. The International conducting competition “Llíria, City of Music” aims to discover and promote young conductors from all over the world. More information on the website www.lliriacityofmusic.es
