27th Season of the International Keyboard Institute & Festival takes place July 7-12 in Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center
Concerts are planned for the 27th Season of the International Keyboard Institute & Festival, taking place at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center July 7 – 12. The IKIF Masters Series will present a showcase of six pianists in recital. All concerts take place at 8:00pm. Masterclasses will be held July 7-12 from 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm at Klavierhaus.
Founder/Director Jerome Rose performs the opening concert of Beethoven, Schumann and Liszt on Monday, July 7.
Llewellyn Sánchez-Werner, gifted young American pianist is a Gilmore Young Artist and Concert Artist Guild winner with international credentials, performs on Tuesday, July 8.
Julian Pflugmann, German/Chinese pianist, studied in both China and Germany, as well as the US where he was a student of Jerome Rose at Mannes. Mr. Pflugmann performs Wednesday, July 9.
Pablo Rossi, based in Brazil, performed worldwide for the Keyboard Trust, is a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory guided by Elisso Virsaladze and a former student of Jerome Rose at Mannes. He performs on Thursday, July 10.
Massimiliano Ferrati, Italian pianist, performs and gives masterclasses worldwide. A student of Sergio Perticaroli at S. Cecilia in Rome, he is currently Piano Professor at the Conservatory in Verona. He performs Friday, July 11.
Martín García García, First Prize at the 2021 Cleveland Competition, Third Prize at the 2021 Chopin Competition in Warsaw with a Special Award for Best Concerto performance, and IKIF 2018 Competition First Prize winner, performs extensively worldwide and returns to IKIF in recital on Saturday, July 12.

Llewellyn Sánchez-Werner on July 8 performs Haydn C Major Sonata, Hob. XVI: 50, Schumann’s Humoreske, Beethoven Sonata Op. 101 and Stravinsky’s Firebird, arr. Agosti
Julian Pflugmann on July 9 performs Three Sonatas of Brahms
Pablo Rossi on July 10 performs Schubert Impromptus, Op. 90, works by Gomes and Villa-Lobos, Three Schubert/Liszt Song Transcriptions, and the Schubert Wanderer Fantasy
Massimiliano Ferrati on July 11 performs Scarlatti Sonata in F minor, K. 466, Haydn Variations in F minor, Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata, and Chopin’s Sonata No. 3 in B minor
Martín García García on July 12 performs Six Moments Musicaux of Schubert, Ravel’s Valses nobles et sentimentales, four Études-Tableaux and Six Moments Musicaux of Rachmaninoff
Since 1999 the Festival has attracted students from around the world who have the opportunity to attend the Festival and study with Faculty Artists, participate in masterclasses, and attend concerts and lectures given by some of the world’s best-known pianists and scholars.
