Tyler Ehrlich named Assistant Director of Wind Studies at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM)

University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Dean Pete Jutras has announced the appointment of Tyler Ehrlich, DMA, as CCM's new Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Wind Studies. In this role, Ehrlich will conduct the CCM Wind Ensemble, oversee CCM’s doctoral cognate in wind conducting and teach conducting, literature and music education courses. His faculty appointment officially begins on Aug. 15, 2025.

Ehrlich maintains a varied conducting career with experience with secondary, collegiate, community and professional ensembles. While in Atlanta, he served on the faculty of Emory University, where he conducted the Emory Wind Ensemble and taught in Georgia public schools. He was also Associate Conductor of the Atlanta Wind Symphony, leading the ensemble in performances at the Midwest Clinic and the Georgia Music Educators In-Service Conference.

Ehrlich also diversifies his career in the arts through his arrangements, research and production work. His transcription of Spiritual Suite by Margaret Bonds marks the first commercially available wind band arrangement of her music. While in Austin, Ehrlich produced wind ensemble recording sessions for composers including David Biedenbender, Kathaj Copley, Marie Douglas, Arnold Rosner and Adrian Sims. He has given invited talks at the Midwest Clinic, the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles International Conference, the College Band Directors National Association National Conference, and the Texas and Georgia Music Educators Conferences. Ehrlich also hosts From the Butler School on Classical 89.5 KMFA and has directed symphonic media livestreams and IMAG productions in Houston, Austin and Fort Worth.

Ehrlich received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Music degree from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Cornell University. He lives with his partner, Brent, and their dog, Milo.
