CINCINNATI, OH (October 6, 2026)—The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and Cincinnati Pops have announced the 2026–27 concerts for its Live from Music Hall Digital Concert Series, including four full-length orchestra concerts livestreamed on the Orchestra’s YouTube channel. The concerts will be conducted by CSO Music Director Cristian Macelaru and Cincinnati Pops conductor John Morris Russell and feature guest artists including violinist Ray Chen, singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno, cellist Alisa Weilerstein and the CSO’s own Principal Viola Christian Colberg. In its seventh season, this series builds on the Orchestra’s commitment to expand access to orchestral music through digital innovation,creating a global community of virtual concertgoers.
Music Director Cristian Macelaru will conduct two CSO programs on the digital concert series. On January 23, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. Macelaru will lead a program including Strauss’ Don Quixote and George Enescu’s Symphony No. 3. As the world’s leading interpreter of George Enescu’s music, Macelaru will conduct the first U.S. performance of Enescu’s Symphony No. 3 in nearly 100 years featuring the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus under the direction of Matthew Swanson. Strauss’ Don Quixote will be brought to life by cellist Alisa Weilerstein and CSO Principal Viola Christian Colberg. On May 15, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. Macelaru will conduct the Cincinnati Premiere of Eunike Tanzil’s Remembering, Korngold’s Violin Concerto featuring violinist Ray Chen and conclude with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10.
Cincinnati Pops Conductor John Morris Russell will conduct two programs on the digital concert series. On December 13, 2026, at 2 p.m. Russell will lead Holiday Pops, featuring Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno, Cincinnati’s own Studio for Dance, and the Holiday Pops Chorale comprised of the May Festival Youth Chorus, the School for Creative and Performing Arts Chorale and the Sycamore High School Select Ensemble. On April 17, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. Russell will conduct the CSO’s annual celebration of Black music, Classical Roots, featuring the Classical Roots Community Chorus under the direction of Resident Conductor Jason Alexander Holmes.
