AMI Welcomes Justina Chu - Flute / Piano Teacher

AMI located in Clarendon Hills, Downers Grove, St Charles, & Geneva, IL  - all instruments, ages, styles, & levels

American Music Institute (AMI) proudly welcomes Justina Chu to its faculty. She is available on Wednesdays and Saturdays at AMI’s Clarendon Hills and Downers Grove Campus. Ms. Justina Chu brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to AMI’s Flute / Piano programs, inspiring students of all ages and skill levels.

Justina Chu is a Chicago-area flutist with an active orchestral career. She earned her Master of Music degree from Longy School of Music and her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Houston. Justina also completed a Post-master’s Certificate in Flute Performance at DePaul University.

Justina is an experienced flute teacher. From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a full-time private flute instructor and taught at several high schools and junior high schools in the Greater Houston area. After moving to Chicago, Justina joined the British International School’s Studio 814 program, where she worked there as a flute instructor from 2018 to 2019.

In 2019, Justina performed as a soloist with the Aspen Music Festival’s Conducting Academy Orchestra. She earned the opportunity after winning the festival’s Concerto Competition. That same year, she received First Prize at the Atlanta Flute Club’s Young Artist Competition. She later presented a recital at the club’s 2021 Flute Fair.

In 2024, Justina was appointed Second Flute of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, and Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and as a guest artist with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra.
